Reimbursement claim
At any hospital
- 1Pay the hospital and collect all bills, reports and the discharge summary
- 2Share documents with us, we check them for gaps before filing
- 3We file the claim and follow up with the insurer / TPA

Customer stories
Real help when it mattered
Sample stories for the demo, to be replaced with real customer reviews.
“My father's surgery claim was stuck over a room-rent query. The PolicyBench advisor told us exactly which documents and clarifications to send, and it was cleared in two days.”
“Our employer cover felt like enough until they showed us what a big hospital bill looks like. A super top-up added ₹50 lakh of cover for less than a weekend trip.”
“Finding a policy for my 68-year-old mother with diabetes felt impossible. They found two insurers that would cover her and explained every waiting period honestly.”
FAQs
Health Insurance questions, answered
How much health cover do I need?
For a family in a metro, ₹10–25 lakh is a sensible base, ideally combined with a super top-up. Medical inflation in India runs at over 10% a year, so cover that feels big today can feel small in five years.
Is my employer's group cover enough?
Usually not. Group cover ends when you leave the job, is often ₹3–5 lakh, and may not cover parents adequately. A personal policy plus a super top-up gives continuous protection.
What is a waiting period?
The time before certain conditions are covered. Typically 30 days for illnesses, 1–3 years for pre-existing diseases and 1–2 years for specific procedures. Accidents are covered from day one.
Can I get health insurance with diabetes or BP?
Yes. Many insurers cover pre-existing conditions after a waiting period, and some offer special plans with shorter waiting periods. Honest disclosure is essential.
What is room-rent capping and why does it matter?
Some plans limit the room rent you can claim. If you choose a costlier room, the insurer can reduce other charges proportionately. We prefer plans without room-rent limits.
Can I switch my health insurer without losing benefits?
Yes, through portability. Waiting-period credit is carried over to the new insurer. Apply at least 45 days before renewal, we handle the process for you.
What is the difference between a top-up and a super top-up?
A top-up pays when a single claim exceeds the deductible. A super top-up pays when total claims in a year exceed it, which makes it far more useful.
How is PolicyBench paid? Do I pay a fee?
You pay no fee to us. Our advisors are licensed insurance agents, and when you buy a policy through us the insurer pays us a commission set under IRDAI rules. For plans from insurers we are not appointed by, we still explain your options and you buy directly from that insurer.
