Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data PolicyBench collects when you use policybench.in or talk to us, why we need it, who we share it with and how you can control it. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000. We never sell your data.

Who we are

PolicyBench is a family-run insurance advisory and mutual fund distribution practice based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, PolicyBench is the "data fiduciary" for the personal data you share with us through this website, by phone or on WhatsApp.

What we collect

Details you give us:

  • Your name, mobile number, email address and city.
  • Answers you give in our forms and tools, such as age, family members to be covered, income, existing cover, loans, vehicle details, health conditions and investment goals.
  • Documents you choose to upload or send us, such as policy copies, renewal notices, claim or rejection letters and hospital bills.
  • What you tell us on calls, WhatsApp or email.

Details collected automatically when you use the website:

  • Your IP address and browser or device type, used to keep the site secure and stop spam.
  • How you reached us: the page you landed on, the referring website and any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or an ad click ID).
  • Which pages you visit and which buttons you tap, such as Call or WhatsApp, if analytics is switched on.

Health and financial details are sensitive. We only ask for what we need to advise you, and we only use it for that.

Why we use it

  • To call or message you back about your enquiry and give you advice.
  • To review your existing policies, compare plans and explain your options.
  • To help you apply for, renew, port or claim on a policy, or start or review a mutual fund investment, when you ask us to.
  • To keep records that insurance and mutual fund rules require us to keep.
  • To understand which pages and ads bring enquiries, so we can improve the website.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent fraud or misuse.

We do not use your data for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.

Who we share it with

We share your data only when it is needed for the purposes above:

  • Insurance companies and their third-party administrators (TPAs), when you ask us to get a quote, submit a proposal, renew a policy or help with a claim.
  • Mutual fund houses, their registrars (RTAs) and KYC registration agencies, when you ask us to help you invest.
  • Service providers who run this website for us: website hosting, database storage, email delivery and, if switched on, analytics and advertising tools from Google and Meta. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
  • Government bodies, regulators, courts or the police, when the law requires it.

Some of these service providers store or process data outside India. We only use providers that protect data with industry-standard security, and only where transfer is allowed under the DPDP Act.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website stores a small record in your browser of how you first arrived (landing page, referring site and campaign tags) for up to 30 days, so that we know which pages and ads bring enquiries. It also remembers, for the current visit only, whether you have already seen our pop-up so we do not show it again.

If analytics or advertising tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or the Meta Pixel are switched on, they set their own cookies to measure visits and ad performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as we need it to help you, and for as long as you hold a policy or investment we helped with. After that we keep only what insurance, mutual fund, tax or other laws require, for the period they require. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time (see Your rights below).

How we protect it

The website uses HTTPS encryption. Enquiries and documents are stored in a secured database, and only our team can view them through a password-protected dashboard. We give access only to the people who need it to help you.

No website or database can be made completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we have used it.
  • Correct, complete or update your data.
  • Delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw your consent.
  • Address a complaint about how we have handled your data.
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This website is meant for adults. Parents and guardians often share details of their children to plan family health cover or a child's education goal. We use those details only for that purpose. We do not knowingly collect data directly from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its date. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
